>>102758178He doesn't have the time to reflect on each and every piece now. He's on a mission, seemingly. And what a mission it is. Outside the Fortress, armageddon has arrived in the stars. Space-time is falling apart, just outside the protective dome. Black holes swallow suns as they sputter and die out, new brown drawfs crackle for brief moments before fizzling away.
Taking a moment to soak in the terrifying surreal beauty of the end, Superman slowly flies towards the nearest black hole. Behind him, the Fortress falls into a strange orbit, lost to eternity.
Placing his bare hands on the event horizon of the black hole, Superman muses that what he is about to do is impossible, but that has never once stopped him before. We see him push the black hole all around, collecting everything that is left of the universe and leaving behind blank whiteness of an untouched page. As he pushes, the strain seems to take its toll on him, and him cleaning up is interspersed with flashback panels of things he remembers or regrets. Not pushing harder when Bruce clearly needed help but was too proud to ask for it. Avoiding Lois as Clark early in their relationships because he wasn't sure if she would accept that over Superman, etc. Strainig, he pushes the growing black hole even harder. Eventually these regrets are replaced with fond memories. Making peace with Luthor at the very end of his life, handing the Justice League off to the next generation, and so on.
With everything in the universe collected into a single black hole or white space, he too starts falling into it, as the perspective follows him. No, he reflects, it wasn't perfect. First drafts never are. But maybe he'll get it right the next time. And, with that, it's all over.
On a pure black panel, we see what appears to be another big bang. Particles becoming distinct again, in 4 colors. Pulling away further, we see Metropolis citizens, illustrated in newsprint, looking up. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...[End]
