I love Finn so much it's insane but him turning into a pacifist is so boring and adds nothing to his character. There's nothing mature about not enjoying pleasures you used to love just because you "grew up" or whatever, there's no reason Finn should have stopped enjoying fighting, let alone doing it altogether.
It makes sense for Finn to not always default to fighting and use peaceful options in situations that call for them, that's good development to his character and fitting, I like that part; but the rest is stupid and makes Finn boring. If he isn't a fighter what the fuck is he now? Can't be a hero if you aren't a fighter, as gigantic 800 stories tall Sweet Pea with his giant sword shows in the ending. So what the fuck is Finn gonna do now? Be a shitty negotiator, talk nicely to the bad guys to get them to stop?
I cannot grasp how you could think this is a good development for Finn to go through.
