I personally love the show and season 2 is when the serious parts start coming into play and we get to learn more about the characters. Just like how that other anon said season 3 is also really good.

I didn't know I was that hype for season 4 when it actually arrived. S4 was the season with two of my most favorite episodes in it even though the whole season had an objectively bad Todd B plot in it. I had to live 20 years under a psychologically abusive mother and S4 got a lot of that right and gave me an entirely perspective on my own relationship with my mother. Which now is that I don't give a fuck about her anymore.

Is it bad that I feel like the zanier aspects of the comedy feels more and more out-of-place the longer the show goes on?

I still think Bojack's humor is consistently funny, but some of the wackier subplots with the side-characters really grated on me last season.

I can't watch this anymore because I know its going to crash and burn before it reaches a definite end. It was lucky to get 2 seasons, as long as they keep stretching it out its going to keep losing flavor until it becomes another Archer, where all you do is look at the characters and laugh because they don't learn anything or ever have to face the consequences of their actions.
