Alright. Crunchyroll are the assholes of fansubbing. They take subscription money from weeaboos, and ad revenue from streaming, and send it to japan. Sort of a way for pirated anime streams to go legit. Their whole justification is "this shit helps pay for more anime".
The parent company, or something like that of Crunchyroll decides to make an animated western magical girl show, sort of like bee and puppycat. Theme is little witch academia.
Someone, probably a corporate asshole, decides to put it on Crunchyroll.
They release a promo for it, which is about 40 percent generic boilerplate 10 percent talking about the show, and 50 percent talking about how amazing their all woman writing team is, and their gender ratio. No comments allowed on the video.
Additionally, one of the writers is apparently the infamous Kate Leth. For the newfags here, she's a regular on the storytimes of pain, who's knowledge of anime seems to be sailor moon deep.. Pic related. Kate Leth gets into a LOT of stupid social media fights.
And we're seeing the reaction in real time more or less. /a/ wants NOTHING to do with it. The core fanbase is pissed, some claiming to cancel their subscriptions. The people who enjoy bitching about SJWs immediately start bitching about SJWs, with the obvious rolling ball of retardation that follows.>>102586593
The objection from /a/ is comparable to /co/ complaining about live action on cartoon network. It's also really not fair to call it a SJW boogeyman, when it's clearly the biggest selling point of the marketing so far.
And of course, we actually don't know whether the show is good or not.>>102586726
LOL. Go ahead and try making a thread about this there. See what happens.
