>>102463279It absolutely infuriated me back in the day that this artist and so many other Toffee fans apparently had no idea what his actual colors were. Instead of the grayish-blue scales he has in direct lighting (admittedly just in one scene in S1 because all the rest of the time he was in scenes with weird lighting), they'd just copypaste them as the gray they'd appear to be in Ludo's castle and seemingly not notice that the other characters in the scene, ex. fucking STAR, had their colors distorted dramatically then too. Same happened with Ludo a lot too (green often became brownish-gray), except he was much less popular then so you didn't see him as much in fanart.
Battle for Mewni kind of helped correct that view a bit since he got more scenes in neutral lighting there, but I've barely followed the fandom recently so I dunno if it's really changed THAT much.
But yeah I never liked Monstar. Wrong colors, really lazy design. At least give her a snout or something instead of looking like you literally just MS-Painted Star gray. I used to hate the Moon/Toffee pairing that would've led to its existence too, but ironically I started liking it a bit after it was proved not canon.
