Those new cartoon are good, but most of their jokes are more "he, that's funny" than actual laughable jokes. Sometimes, it's even cringy how they rely on references or "adult jokes" to try to make you laugh. Not saying gumball doens't do it, but hey, they actually make it work.
The point is, I hate that authors creates good plot shows but forgot the most crucial point of a cartoon; a cartoon needs to be funny.
