Geoff Johns is the consistently best writer for DC (and Grant Morrison is massively overated, having an encyclopedic knowledge of a characters history and sprinkling old references everywhere does not make you a good writer, it makes you autistic)

And because they had a chance to have a seriously ballsy ending in letting Bruce die for the city. His mission finally having killed him, as we all knew it would. Alfred standing over the graves of his parents talking about how he failed them. Fucking powerful stuff.

Geoff writes with his heart, he just gets the characters, he knows them and he owns them.
Grant, in order to get down to their core, their essence, has to do the impossibile.
He doesn't have an encyclopedic knowledge, he actually works his ass off to study those characters, the Golden Age, Silver Age stuff, all of it, and then he gets meta as shit.
Geoff could do that as well, it's just a matter of style.
I respect the hell out of these 2.

Here's mine: Geoff Johns is below sub-par as writer and even worse off as an ideasman.

His Green Lantern is infuriating to read because all he did was cherrypick one-shot stories and glorify the source material by taking his OCs and shoehorning them in as the worst aspect of the franchise, which was the Rainbow Corps. We were in this god awful slump for a decade because he's so creatively inept, so painfully stupid that his solution to expanding the GL villain roster is to splash everything with colors and Earth-shattering events every month.

Then, in his New 52 stories, he had the gaul, the audacity to have Sinestro drop the line "We were always friends, Hal." Fuck you. There's not a single redeeming thing about Johns. He mismanages IPs, constantly glorifies and changes characters for the worst, and to top it off people treat him like he's some sort of Olympic God for bringing back Hal Jordan when it wasn't his idea in the first place, but mandated by editorial because DC got death threats on a weekly basis.

Ten out of fucking ten, I'm mad.

STAS was better than BTAS.

Aishi and Scrappy Doo get too much hate.

SJ season 5 was decent even though I disliked the ending.

Rick and Morty, Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents were never good.

Mysticons and Big Hero 6 are the best cartoons currently airing.

Excluding the second season, LoK was good.

That was hyperbole because I'm tired of people lapping up the Hanna-Barbera comics like they're some kind of crowning achievement in the history of comic books. They're just goofy crossovers and short-lived ongoings with some sort of post-modern twist. Not necesarily bad, but acting like they're some sort of badge of honor in DiDio's career and that he'll be looked back upon fondly 20 years from now thanks to them is pretty disingenuous.

He "gets" them because he reinvents most of the ones he touches.
It's why I believe his Teen Titans is one of the worst runs due to the negative impact it had.

Like yeah Lobdell's was absolute shit but if you don't read it, then the only thing it really impacted was Jason and Tim being closer. Everybody else was thrown into exile and you're an idiot if you don't think they'll ignore or try to "fix" the majority of his run, especially Cassie and Bart.

But Johns' run? It started Tim becoming Batman Jr. Superboy being an angry jackass. Cassie being an uptight bitch. Sucking most of the fun out of Bart. Brother Blood being just some Trigon freak instead of his own thing. Raven being deaged to fit on TT. Starfire, Beast Boy, and Cyborg joining her in NTT instead of moving on. Though in Johns' defense Tim changing, and the last four being back in TT were likely just synergy changes for the TT cartoon, but still doesn't help the fact that those characters still haven't escaped their troubles.

Oh and unlike most reinventions or additions to a mythos (hello Dick and Diana), Johns' reinventions usually stick because he's a big kahuna at DC so editorial usually backs him or made him do it in the first place. So other time the old one is forgotten and the character becomes one of those characters that people want Johns' to write because "he gets them". Superboy is absolutely the biggest example of this.

Azz was really just taking the spirit of New 52 to the fullest extent and completely reinventing the character.
