They monologued at each other and neither was listening, which is even worse. If they were chatting we'd at least get a better sense of Rogol's personality, but instead he just keeps asking Clark if there are more Kryptonians to kill. It clashes with everything we've seen (He's reckless, impatient, doesn't listen, etc, but here he's calm and prying) while telling us nothing but the fact that he's relentless...which we already know.
If they were chatting, at LEAST it would show us how they present themselves in conversation, how they react to each other, and even paint Rogol as a touch overconfident, or hypocritical when his victim is confronting him rather than being a mere statistic. Instead they both *tell the audience and each other exactly what they're thinking with no reaction until Clark snaps at the threat to ME SON at the end.* The fact that this got past editorial is maddening. This would get you torn apart in college, not to mention a half-decent publisher.
