I could tell before that since the White Lotus were not able to find the Avatar despite them going up to tell Roku that he was the Avatar. They were saying they'd be all over the place investigating claims instead of finding the next Avatar successfully like how they found Roku and Aang.

Korra and the show as a whole may be shit but that scene isn't bad. It immediately sets her up as a cocky, arrogant shit who thinks she has it all because she's a bending pro which is a fantastic place to start her arc, they just fucked it up.

Baby Korra would have been fine if the show wasn't crap, I don't know why it assravages people so.

It's supposed to assravange people; it's setting her up as a basebreaker. People who liked the tranquility and peace of Avatar are pissed that this literally who is shitting all over that atmosphere. People who liked the FUCK YEAH AWESOME parts of Avatar are happy there's this new hot chick out there fucking shit up from day 1 rather than forcing us to do the same story structure as ATLA. The problem with ATLOK is that the writers really, REALLY don't know how to deal with this trait well.

Her being antagonistic and throwing tantrums was the entire start of her character arc, and she did mature as the series progressed. By the end, she wasn't throwing tantrums or being needlessly argumentative.

I think we can all agree that had Korra been the ONLY problem with the show, people would have been annoyed but they wouldnt have hated the show so much.
Every character has more than its fair share of discarding their supposed goals for no clear reason, only to pick them back up again later and act like something genuinely important had taken them away before

I still feel the whole show would have been redeem if at the end of season 1, Korra remained without her bending abilities, and the remaining seasons was her regaining them one by one thus learning the value of her role as the Avatar.
