>>102048030There's also the matter of the Dark King not looking particularly like Cassandra
But, we can consider a mother
One shot of the throne room clearly shows two chairs
https://desu-usergeneratedcontent.xyz/co/image/1531/83/1531833860062.jpg Which brings reasonable evidence that there was a queen. Where this Dark Queen is at this point in the story is completely unknown but the picture holds additional interesting things
The two thrones are exactly the same in height and placement, which insinuates that those sitting, be it a king and queen, or perhaps some kind of dual kingship, hold the same authority and status.
There certainly isn't a throne for Arianna in Corona's castle
Furthermore, the statues in the throne room. One of which is visible from the shot of the Opal chamber seems to depict a female figure, and it is the statue placed directly behind the thrones. Whether this is a founder-queen or the placement of the statues are not important, it does seem to hint that Dark Queens have been, and played an important role in the past
So if a hypothetical Dark Queen holds as much importance as I'm finding myself believing, her absence from this opening scene leads me to conclude that she has either died in the catastrophe leading to now-which would certainly fuel the Dark King's anger to the point of physically attacking the Opal-or she is preoccupied with something much more important. A newborn princess?
But the dying king makes no mention of either a queen or child, so all previous observations are rendered suspect
We'll just have to see what happens when we get there. Would be a cool plot twist
Aaaaand, Cass being the newly reinstated Dark Queen rebuilding her realm could be a reason for her absence at the wedding. A hard one to swallow, but a reason
