Nobody asked for nothing, they are just reselling and repacking an existing IP for profit, as far as I know, IP holders need to do something with the property to extend the copyright deadline, that's why you see infinite reboots of shows like Scoody-Doo, maybe it was somebody's idea to revive it like that new Thundercats show, who knows.

We've been over this with super hero adaptations and other toy franchise adaptations.

If a producer risks a bunch on a new IP and it flops, they're fucked. If they present the investors with evidence that "Adaptation/reboot of X franchise will likely do well based on performance of other similar properties and these factors" the fallout will likely be mitigated.

If these people are really so concerned about children growing up in a culture that stifles sexuality, then shouldn't they be supportive of there no longer being one exact model of what is attractive being shoved into kids' faces all the time? I'm quite thankful that my childhood was fantastic and that it was filled so many excellent franchises. However, yes it does piss me slightly to see said franchises a shell of what they once were. I've seen one dude complain that it's a 'dumbing down' of the original art style. The art style ever so lovingly applied by Filmation.

Just to clarify to everyone, here are lovely quotes from animators who worked there:

Heaven forbid we actually have a decent animation studio like DreamWorks handle the reboot a la Voltron.

Many animation studios today don't want to hire more animators to keep costs down. Not to mention the fact that the US and UK's recent focus on STEM graduates has lead to a lack of good artists.

This means that even under the artistic constraints of calarts, it takes a long-ass time to make anything.

People who complain about Calarts are complaining about the outcome, without any understanding of the cause.

Ugh, don't remind me of my years of thinking that hating art students made me smart. Because of our riding this wave of hype around STEM those subjects are now flooded with people who aren't suited to them and didn't even want to be there, while our entertainment industries are starved of trained talent. Artists might've been able to kick back and very justifiably rub it in our faces how we lowered the competition they face while declaring them 'irrelevant', if only the wave hadn't translated to cuts in government support of the arts. Art gets choked and Technology gets drowned.

I think he's referring to IP licensing, like how, say, Warner Bros contractually needs to make some number of DC films within some specified time frame else they lose the rights. Yeah? Well, how many people actually gave a shit about She Ra? Nobody gave a fuck back when She-Ra originally came out, because it was an obvious attempt at trying to squeeze more out of He-Man nearing the end of it's lifespan.

That's why She-Ra only ran from 28 episodes, compared to He-Man's motherfucking 130.
Sheesh, we had the NEW Adventures of He-Man in 1990, and then we had the reboot of He-Man in 2004, which didn't even touch up or even make any sort of hint towards She-Ra.

Nobody cared about this part of the franchise up until it's return, and I'm not exactly sure how it's ruining something that was never that high quality in the first place. If anything deserves the chance for a reboot in this era of REBOOT EVERYTHING, it's shit that nobody cared about before and was never really that good in the first place.

I, for one, approve of her look. She looks like a 13 year old girl who hasn't had her puberty hit yet. And that is fine with me. Her eyebrows are deliciously thick and sexy, and her body shape is hidden behind armor.

She has wide, strong shoulders and POWERFUL fucking arms. She is clearly a girl who has yet to grow into her full femininity. I like the idea of the story becoming 'teenage girl rebelling against controlling evil daddy' in the form of Adora and Hordak.

If they play up the Father/Daughter relationship they have, and actually show the struggle she has to fight him after he raised her from an infant, I'd be pleased.

I'm honestly looking forward to some more important characters being revealed. Namely, Hordak, Spellweaver, and She-Ra/Adora's actual love interest in the form of Sea Hawk.

I hope there is an adventure on the high seas where Adora falls for the charming pirate Sea Hawk in a teenage girlish crush while he is drooling over She-Ra. Its a good trope.

And as much as I wish the new series was animated like my picture, this look is okay.

She-Ra was always a female empowerment show. Its just been modernized. Its not going to change the fact that She-Ra could kick Superman's ass in terms of raw strength, and she could crush Wonder Woman.

They just stopped making new episodes of He-Man and had He-Man become a supporting character for his sisters adventure.

There was a mini story about the mother being human in an alien worlds,culture of fighting/flying,and a good story arc of sea hawk and shera

Since it's was in a 90 everything was handle is a camp Saturday night action so in the reboot hopefully it will focus on the interesting aspects on the cartoon
