>>101633305>Yeah, the reason it was so successful was because of its secondary casting that drew attention. So then what is the point of your argument? If it holds up because it exploits a fandom how can you know it's quality is really there? More so when that's where the buck stops?
>The fact that Roche gave these characters actual shit to do and depth that no other medium has given them is why people like the Wreckers seriesAgain, Look at what you are writing, it's my whole point, if these were all OC bots hardly anyone would have cared about it. The fact he used more exotic TFs that most fans that read IDW would know just by name and look but not much else shows the game at hand.
>and the irony of doing it in a group that is literally considered a bunch of throwaways and expendable asshats added some suspense to it, because you knew these characters could and would bite it if they didn't play it smart.Since 1983 Transformer comics have never not been a suspense, both sides would get grinned out and some stayed dead and others still had years before they were dragged back out.
>This style of writing doesn't work anywhere easilyI'm trying really hard not to lash out at this ignorance but the formula of LSotW is a large sea of World War 2 novels and films, hell there have even been games that had the same formula. I get it, it was a cookie cutter story that was polished and work and I'm sure for media that was aimed at selling toys to 8 year olds it's "top shelf" but that should excuse it's mediocrity if the topic is about quality of the writer themselves. He does good art though.
