>>101621280Me too, but I don't think it's her fault. This is the second story I've read with her -- the other being something about her retrieving her pet badger from EVIL SCIENTISTS that got storytimed -- and in both of them there has been such absolutely casual and callous disregard for other people's property and safety. I mean, look at this shit:
>>101621053We cold open on a fight between our protagonists and what appears to be just some fucking dudes. We continue through a whirlwind of property destruction including putting holes in paved streets, crushing parked cars, and smashed fucking cement trucks, and then they just kinda fucking walk away. They don't even do anything with the dudes -- who turned out to be just plain fucking dudes from all indications. The other comic I read was even worse with them flat out burning down a fucking high rise in the middle of a city block just because fuck scientists, I guess.
The two comics I've seen her in have sent a very clear message: nothing matters and you shouldn't care about the characters. The villains don't matter, the civilians don't matter, the world doesn't matter. Nothing fucking matters. Gabby, to me, reads like a schmaltzy, paint by numbers precocious scamp of a prop that's placed in front bog standard, trite, super hero action set pieces.
The authors clearly don't care about the world or the events that happen in it. They only care about the character and everything else is a vehicle to deliver us from quirky moment to quirky moment. And I really, really hate it.
