So this is way late, but the official YouTube channel for Rimba Racer (I think) has begun to upload English dubs of the 2nd season.

Fucking finally if you ask me. I missed my furry Speed Racer drama about corruption in big businesses.

It's 480p so that's the best you can get. Some people have done tv rips at 720p but I've only seen that once.

I don't know if there are any new upscaling techniques these days.

I like the Rookie racers and all but I think as of the latest episode they need to be dropping their plan to just knock Tag and company off the circuit legally and just start trying to kill them outright. I mean to say they need to escalate the conflict in the story.

There's also two government affliated organisations that filter and foster film and animation for the general audience. A lot of Malaysian movies for example are romances, police action, police comedy or gangster movies and a lot of them tend to be cookie cutter because of being filtered.

Glues Studios is an indie startup so they can make shit which requires government approval but at the same time is far more creative.

This isn't like Animonsta (Boboiboy) and WAU (Agent Ali) who have government ties. The guy who runs Animonsta is the ex-Prime Minister's brother while WAU is under TV3 Malaysia's thumb

to be fair, they literally are on their own. Art is not a "career"; it's a skill that you use coupled with something else, a vision and space. There's too many artists that just got in because they could daydream a lot and liked the bohemian and avant-grade, and got nowhere because they had nothing to say.

it's why graphic designers, illustrators and so on get to make good things and work in productions that millions of people can see, while fine arts graduates only have snobbery to show for it.

Alot of those kinds of degrees are up to the auditioning process. Sure, one actor makes 6 figures while 99% are making nothing or not working as actors at all.

Then you have other factors like if the job is outsourced or whatnot. I know architecture was being shipped to India, although that was years back.

Then you have the fact that alot of these are not quantifiable. How does a glassblower working out of his garage or a documentary student factor to the GDP?
