Somebody complained on Twitter about SJW-types in DnD and tried to get the hashtag going. It died faster than roadkill under an eighteen-wheeler, but its corpse continued to be prodded by people pretending that they were better than its creator. One person was petty enough to actually trademark "#DnDgate" for $300.
I honestly don't know what the underlying issue behind its inception is. I saw it trending on Twitter one day and all I saw were Tweets making fun of the "controversy".>>101285515
Again, it's not so much that GG is still alive as much as it is that the basic culture war is still alive.
I don't even think that the people who pushed GG on Twitter during its heyday believe that GG is alive and thriving.
