I barely graduated with a low C in high school (rarely did homework). went off to State college, and had professors thanking me for being competent in high school level tasks like structuring a paper, algebra, and siting research sources .
this was a novelty to them because so many kids are graduating high school with a 7th grade education because even if they didn't learn anything schools are obligated to advance them
this was early 2000s. it's even worse now because in order to not upset the parents of autistic and stupid children, shcools have dumbed down curriculum significantly so they can keep up
but that's fine since public schools aren't intended to make intelligent people. they're meant to churn out blue collar workers
