The first is that a Jedi's duty is to the whole galaxy, not to a few people. You have a literal mystic connection to every living thing that exists and personal attachments get in the way of that, and it goes double when you routinely handle missions that can affect millions or even billions of lives.
The second part is the jedi as an entity are against the idea of force using bloodlines. That brings jedi a step closer to a kind of monarchical entity and they aren't there to rule the galaxy. They're a separate and distinct entity from the government and any time they take ruling power it's something they have to surrender as soon as possible.
Of course as we see in practical reality half the jedi ignored that rule and didn't give a fuck so long as they kept it on the DL. Between Ki Adi Mundi and Kit Fisto like a quarter of the last high council was actually off sucking face either due to loopholes or just lying about it including Anakin. There were also a bunch of guys who were grandfathered in from before Lucasfilm made the code so once you actually break down the numbers, a crazy huge percentage of the jedi order violated that rule frequently.
