Yeah bro there was this wheelchair girl in high school I always used to pick on and then one day she freaked out and started slashing her wrists with a pair of scissors and after she got sent to the nurse they suspended her for a month for causing a disturbance or whatever. There's no way to know who is the bully and who is the victim. Kids are lying duplicitous little shits.

Yeah, it seems obvious who did what when you're a little kid actually there. But if some shit runs up to you and says "Mister, Tommy hit Billy!", half the time the little asshole is lying. Billy says Tommy started it but Tommy says that he didn't do anything. But Billy has a big red mark on his face.

Either do nothing or put both Billy and Tommy in time out.

School is all about ingraining a sense of obligatory compliance. Through stuff like homework, you can engineer people so that they’re built to play by the rules as part of everyday life. Fighting back against bullies goes against that. It means you’d fight back against your bully of a boss, from their perspective. So they punish it. Pretty fucked and gay but logically sound. This was a case where the guy did that if-I-get-you-to-look-at-the-circle-i-make-with-my-fingers-i-get-to-hit-you. And then he just reared the fuck back like he was gonna slug me hard, and I couldn't help trying to fight back.

other times it was usually a kid making a threat, like "im gonna get you after school!" or "You're fucking dead" and I don't know. Something always went off in my head that if I just retaliated NOW, then that threat couldn't happen because I'd be calling attention to it.

I don't know what the fuck was going on in my head in school. I try to repress those memories.

When I was a kid I had a bully that harassed me pretty much every day, but subtly and when no one was looking. Ignoring him and asking him politely to stop wasn’t working, so one day I got so angry I yelled at him as loud as I could and in the strongest language I knew and told him to fuck off. Unfortunately it was while the school bus was loading, and the bus driver always brought her two or three year old kid with her up in his carseat in the front, and she didn’t want him exposed to that kind of language (I guess she could’ve gave a shit less about the rest of the kids on the bus as long as her toddler’s innocence was protected), so she called up the principal and made me get out. I think I scared the fuck out of the principal when I saw the bus pulling away and immediately burst out violently sobbing. When she asked what was wrong and I told her I was “ashamed,” she called the bus to turn around and come get me again. I still think it’s amazing I got to ride home on the bus that day. My memory is hazy, but I’m pretty sure the bully didn’t stop after that, and when I got to new grades and got new bullies I still didn’t know what to do about it, but luckily they weren’t so bad anyway.

I had a school counselor who actually taught kids not to defend themselves if someone attacks them. I was in the same situation. The only time I was ever allowed to interact with other kids was when I was in school, or when my abusive mother was with a friend who had kids, which only happened rarely and eventually stopped. Many administrators and teachers live for the sadistic pleasure of stomping those already down further into the ground. The high school I went to had a betting pool among some of the faculty on who would be the next student to kill themselves. Nudging a student one way or the other was allowed.

Five of them were fired, another two were arrested for CP. High school cured my faith in humanity but good.

Schools today in the inner city especially are total anarchy. Obama introduced legislation to take away federal funding for schools that expel or suspend too many black students, and state/local governments in liberal areas followed suit.

The result is in cities like chicago and seattle and LA teachers are terrorized by their own majority non-white students, being beaten and harassed and even raped. They can't really do anything about it because the school doesn't want to lose funding

The more and more I think about it after the fact, the more amazed I get that neither of the adults in the situation wanted to look into anything further at all. At the time I thought the principal put me back on the bus because she thought I was pathetic for crying and didn’t want to deal with me, or saw that I was honestly sorry and so decided I didn’t need to be punished further, but now I kinda think she got the vibe I was acting scared that my parents were gonna beat me or scold me harshly for getting into trouble, and she didn’t want to deal with that or ask about what was going on with me at all, and just kinda let me go.
