>>100985151Superior Spider-Man. As much fun as it was, after the fact, it had shoved Peter into a position of power and prestige he was ill-equipped for, being the head of his own company, and it got as far away from the spirit of Spider-Man as a character as humanly possible, in that he was no longer the relatable everydude, and became a walking power fantasy, and was a villain in Peter's body playing at being a hero while slowly falling back into his villainous ways with everyone being too retarded to see that something was wrong until everything blew up in SpOck's face, at which point he hands the reins back to Spidey and left him to pick up the pieces.
Also, he ruined Black Cat as a character just so he could push Silk as Spidey's love interest. I mean, granted, Felicia's characterization already got backspaced hard following OMD, but Slott just ruined any chance of her being as well-written as she was during the '04 Marvel Knights run ever again. For one, she had little no cred as a villain to begin with, having been known as a vigilante and ally of Spider-Man for longer than she had been known as a villain in any capacity. Secondly, her being upset that people knew who she was is bunk, as Jean DeWolfe knew who she was under the mask and no stink was raised about that.
Fortunately, it seems as though they're finally reversing that dumbass decision, if the end of the Venom Inc. arc is of any indication; her reputation as a crime boss is in tatters, other villains have completely cut ties with her, she finally reconciled with Spidey and teamed up with him for the first time in ages, and even fucking Eddie Brock told her that she should consider wiping the slate clean and go back to vigilantism, as it was what she was good at.
Fucking Venom told her to get her shit together and start fresh.
VENOM.
I hope they follow through on that and soon, because if they don't do it ASAP, that plot thread's just going to be left dangling for years to come.
