I'm reading his earlier appearances, particularly the Circle Chase, and it's like he's a completely different character. Instead of being an annoying memelord, he's actually a ruthless mercenary who won't shut the fuck up, hence the name, but he doesn't spout references or yell "chimichangas" 24/7.
