>>100713072I watched a few of the early Disney sequels as a kid when they came out. I asked for that shit specifically because I liked the original movies (which was obviously the entire reason they were made), so it's not even some case of "b-b-but kids will grow up thinking these are what REAL Disney movies are and be deprived ;_;" that you could have toward animation reboots like ThunderCats etc. It would've been an asshole move for my parents to forbid me from watching because they personally thought they were stupid.
I watched them, I realized even then they were lacking compared to the originals/continued from them in weird ways, I grew up to write about them right now on the internet like 20 years later and it's not like they ruined my life since a few stupid direct-to-video movies were not the only things I watched. If you only let your kid watch, I dunno, Brother Bear 2 or something for their entire childhood, yeah, that's dumb. If a kid watches some pointless sequels to a Disney movie it's fine: I think you kind of HAVE to let kids watch both good and bad shit and check out what interests them as long as it's appropriate, so they can develop their tastes and be able to judge things critically, ex. wonder why they like one movie so much better than the other.
(I have no problem with a kid watching ThunderCats either but I'm not personally interested in that so whatever)
