...I can't believe that. That's like Frankenstein to the Nth degree. And expecting it to work out!>>100632543>We don't know it.
Not much of a point, is it? For all we know they are at war with a horrible space empire of Snake People. >He had reasonable goals
Okayyyyy... we're done here.
Defending the Nazi regime... you're fucking insane.>>100632609
They are! They are slaves to their purpose. Blue told Pink her gems needed her to function. Yellow said "Where's their Diamond when they need her, Blue? You've got to be a leader, Blue!"
What are they getting out of it? They are not human, we must always remember that. For them, it is always about doing their job - whatever it is. Just like Yellow sang "An army has a use, it can go and fight a war; a Sapphire has a use, it can tell you what it's for. An Agatae terrifies, a Lapis terraforms" and a Diamond, a Diamond leads. They exist to lead the Gempire.
The revolution was more than just a practical threat: it was showing Gems don't need a leader to function. Or at the very least they don't need a Diamond. They were saying "Your existence is pointless". Who wouldn't be upset at that?
Ironically, of course, the rebellion would probably never have happened without a Diamond in the first place. But in any case, even Pink Diamond didn't think the Diamonds needed to exist.
Hmmm. It seems the Diamond authority is essentially like the Functionist regime on Cybertron. A place for everybody, and everybody in their place!
