The creative teams are the best since maybe the 2012 Marvel NOW!. I’m cautiously optimistic about a number of books, I think this could genuinely be Marvel’s comeback and a return to the good graces of their fans

Look at that picture then look for the Fantastic Four, the book that literally build the Marvel Universe. We've got The Thing wayyyy at the bottom, and that's it. It's crazy how little Marvel cares about the properties that don't fall under their cinematic umbrella.

Well, the only books that have come out so far are Avengers #1 and Venom #1. Avengers was pretty by the books, though already shaping up to be better than Waid's, and Venom's was great.

So pretty good so far, but again, this is based off of all of two #1s.

As a newbie I have to say it's the latter one. I picked the Avengers #1 because I thought it might be actually a baby first story - no fucking way. It gave me no needed information. I still don't know what actually happened and why Thor has a metal arm etc. Definitely not a fresh start nor a product for casual readers that want to start follow main series

I'm trying out Deadpool again, but haven't really had my interest piqued by anything else yet except maybe X-Men, but waiting for that to relaunch first as right now I want the 05 gone and the present day X-Men to be the stars again.

That is supposed to make you want to read more to figure out what actually happened. Unfortunately for the big 2 people aren't willing to hop on and figure out whats going on along the way anymore and want shit to be much more self contained.

He said he was a "newbie" and nowadays people don't like feeling like they are missing out on part of the story. Thats why people who don't read comics claim its hard to get into them. It's not, literally just pick up a book at part 1 of a storyline and start reading. Eventually you'll get to a point where you've read most of the shit they reference or its a reference to some classic storyline.
