>>100482561>>100482709Because Taeshi only uses gay-baiting with her characters. Its just fun to sort of hint at things, sort of pretend they like each other and get all blushy but NO HOMO, LOL!!1
Even the relationship between Madison and Jessica is completely underplayed and uninteresting, Its mostly about how Madison is a clone of Lucy and is super salty/insecure.
We can't even have slight focus on 'side characters' (i.e. Anyone who isnt Daisy,Paulo,Mike or Lucy) beyond Augustus (which may as well be a main now). Yeah we get a bit with Abbey but only to show how wrong he is and how much he must suffer.
Everyone else is delegated to the backlines and are generally one note.
Sue? Voice of reason - there to be backup for whomever is upset at the time.
Amaya? A meme
David? A bigger meme
Jessica? Token lesbo, her arc is done after she fucked Paulo and Tess gtfo outta there.
Madison? Token angry lesbo, mostly gay baiting purposes.
Matt? Token gay guy, no reason to exist other than to bolster Paulo's maybe-I'm-bisexual-outta-nowhere-arc.
Abbey? A foil to Paulo and lesser extent, Augustus. Also to be the boyfriend Daisy doesn't have feelings for.
Jasmine? A foil to Daisy, to be a stand-in-goody-two-shoes girlfriend for Paulo until she isn't.
Tess? Drama for Paulo/Lucy/Rachel/Jessica, contributes nothing.
Rachel? A stand in girlfriend for Paulo who he doesn't love, had potential but she is tossed to the way side now.
Mccain? A voice of reason until he grew popular and had to be axed.
Jordan? A nosey annoying older brother for no reason but padding.
Haley? Same thing except for Mike.
Molly? Again padding for Abbey's arc, no real personality beyond sweet lil sister.
Alejandro? Poor plot device.
Parents?Adults?? No real reason.
In short, nobody really matters unless they are contributing the the love-square. They are there to talk to or bolster other characters arcs but have no agency or depth of their own.
