>>100372441When the show was new to only a few years old I think they expected it to be like AT or RS except with magical earth guardians instead of goofy fantasy land adventures or young adults working a job where crazy things happen. Instead there was a lot of storytelling and many of the non plot important episodes teach morales or require context and knowledge of prior episodes.
Despite this it still got a relative popularity, but not among the people that actually watch TV routinely at the times it seems like they wanted it to be shown.
