Right about what? Could someone fill me in on this controversy that I keep hearing about?
I've been wanting to get into X-men again, especially since the new movies seem to be taking the whole "movie universe isnt the same as comic universe' thing more serious than normal

I can't remember exactly anon, Avengers vs Xmen was a long time ago.

IIRC the phoenix was coming back to earth and Cyclops wanted to harness its power to rejuvenate the mutant population who were dying out because Disney didn't have their movie rights.

Avengers thought this was a dick move because the phoenix force is too powerful to control or something like that.

It wasn't a great plot line desu...

Comics Cyclops basically split off from the X-Men after they got LOGAN'd for the past few decades and is running his own group that's basically Mutant Separatists, which Wolverine of course equates with Mutant Supremacists because he's a whiny cunt.
Even though Cyclops is frequently portrayed as an unlikeable asshole in these storylines, he also makes a point of being 100% right, at least when handled by competent authors.
