>>100192530Am I the only one who doesn't have an issue with the Bifrost thing? I thought Infinity War did a subtle and interesting retcon to the MCU version of the Bifrost.
In Thor 1, we're shown it's a massive bridge with a control room, Heimdall's sword acting as the key. Destroying a large part of the bridge created a massive explosion and showed whatever energy runs through the Bifrost pouring out.
In Ragnarok, we're shown the control room can be operated without Heimdall, confirming his sword is indeed a key to the mechanism. Heimdall's innate power is universal sight and communication, not manipulation of the Bifrost.
In Infinity War, before Heimdall sends Hulk to Earth, we clearly hear/see him praying to the Allfathers of old. He's invoking magic to "summon" the Bifrost. The fact the Bifrost can even be summoned tells me that the rainbow bridge of Asgard was not the entirety of the Bifrost itself, but a way of containing and manipulating its energy source. IW presents the idea the Bifrost is a cosmological force of nature. We also know that dwarven weapons are imbued with magic, via enchantments or from their very makeup. I find this retcon (and the new abilities given to Stormbreaker) to be awesome, not an asspull.
