It was fun and for its time, it was ambitious.

It also aged terribly in many aspects, including the shoddy animation and cheesy dialogue.

My only "problem" was that it had so much dialogue, they would never shut up, each episode felt like an hour. But the plot would progress all the time

Somehow this 90's cartoon with shoddy animation is still miles better visually than Marvel's Disney XD lineup. Not re-using animation is literally its only advantage over Spider-man TAS and even the CG isn't any better, embarrassing.

I actually loved it, it gave me ADD of sorts when it came to storytelling. I loved how every episode was connected with the last one, plot threads being brought up from previous seasons, constantly moving, constantly flowing, not wasting a second. It actually took me a bit of time to get used to episodic storytelling when I was a kid.

It was like, in Spider-man TAS there were moments when if you would skip one episode you'll be out of the loop, whereas in Batman TAS if story is complete shit the episode is complete shit.

It was, I honestly liked it better than spectacular. Only thing Spectacular did better was love triangles. And Spidey punching people I guess. But not gonna lie, until reading that he couldn't throw punches in the 90's series, I never even noticed. I kind of liked how it forced him to outsmart his villains instead.

The perfect cartoon to binge. Constant continuity at play, Spider-Man is constantly monologuing and the pace never stops, the episodes of this show go quick like potato chips. And once I went back to check, I realized like 80% of the show takes place at night - which is comfy enough - but also generally on the tops of skyscrapers in New York. Really comfy stuff.

Still one of my all time favorites, went on a spider-man binge and it's a great ride. TAS, New Animated and Spectacular are great. Unlimited was sorta hit and miss and everything after Spectacular was hit and miss some episodes.

And looking back, there's so much weird shit like a pitiable Norman, Black Cat having Gwen Stacy's personality and Captain America's powers, Electro being Red Skull's son, G-rated Punisher, and all that shit with Mordo and Dormammu creating Carnage.

It's not perfect, but it's still an entertaining and respectful portrayal of Spider-Man. Spectacular Spider-Man nailed the teenage life of Peter Parker; TAS embodied his adult life. I still hear Christopher Daniel Barnes whenever I think of Spider-Man.

Yes, the bad CGI and reuse of animation definitely become more apparent as you get older, but I still find myself re-watching the series because I genuinely love it.

The cheesy dialogue and over-the-top performances, however, are more pros than cons.

It's all 50/50 for me. I disliked that they cut Gwen Stacy but I did love how much they fleshed out Black Cat. Also the Secret Wars episodes were pretty weak because they couldn't do a proper crossover. I liked the show, but I disliked all the censorship.
