>>100053307Her character was removed, or maybe you could say that her role as Kuzco's companion was given to Pacha. Another character was apparently named after her, though; the waitress at the diner. But I don't remember if they ever said her name in the movie.
The plans for "Kingdom of the Sun" involved some kind of Prince and the Pauper -plot with Kuzco and Pacha. In the original draft those two had coincidentally identical appearances, and they decided to switch places for fun. Kuzco (or "Manco" in the original version) would pretend to be a llama herder like Pacha, and Pacha would play the role of the emperor.
While herding llamas, Kuzco-as-Pacha met that peasant girl called Mata. It appears she was sarcastic and abrasive towards Kuzco, but she helped him anyway after he got turned into a llama, and became his love interest. Kuzco had originally been betrothed to this girl Nina (pic related), but there was no love between them; Nina hated Kuzco's personality. However, she ended up falling for Pacha-as-Kuzco, so everything worked out in the end.
The whole thing was a bit messy and unfocused. That's why it got reworked and altered until nearly everything from the original plans ended up scrapped.
