>>100042311>Yan Lin ~ IrohIt speaks volumes you're comparing a bland an generic mentor character like Yan Lin, who does almost nothing in the series besides go evil for a few episodes (which goes nowhere), to Iroh.
Iroh of all people, a character whose status as on of the greatest firebenders in history creates a contrast against his personality as calm, and easy-going old man. Whose history is expanded on through the series in a way that not only shines light on the events of Zuko, but shows us the story of a man who had sacrificed much of his life until he the war he'd been fighting took from his own son at the moment of his greatest victory. Someone who'd truly grown to respect the world, it's balance, and it's flaws. Who'd learned that anger and hatred could never be a true source of power. Who wanted his nephew, to learn the same. Who we see crushed by Zuko's rejection, not for himself, but because he loved Zuko and wanted to see him become truly happy, and thought he'd failed.
Also nothing in WITCH even comes close to comparing to the scene in which the White Lotus takes back Ba Sing Se.
The fact that you wrote this, completely unironically, is disgustingly stupid.
>similar tone rare in cartoonsNo, you fucking idiot, no the high school cartoon with a generic fantasy villain does not have similar tone to the heavily chinese inspired cartoon that focuses on balance, sacrifice, hope, self-doubt, and loss. It does not have the same tone as the cartoon that shows the devastation of war through stories of the people affected, not just in their loss but through the ways they move on, the ways they grieve, and the ways they seek justice, vengeance, or peace. That shows characters learning about themselves, their abilities, and growing as people through their interactions with the world around them.
>similar humorHow?
>>similarly continuous, also rare in cartoonsBeing serialized isn't a story element, it isn't rare in cartoons, and it isn't a comparison.
