does this guy know anything about cartoon/animation history? his terrible and ill-informed videos constantly appear in my suggestions, and when he comments stuff like this on vids, it makes me wonder why he even has a channel talking about cartoons

He basically got big during Gravity Falls' run thanks to his weekly fan theories. He'd just over analyse scenes with subtitles and no actual voice-over. He filled a niche when there was a big market for one and thus gained a large following. Once GF ended however he was kind of stranded. He branched out to other "lore-heavy" shows and started using his real voice (which is quite grating) and still doing the occasional Gravity Falls lookback. I'm not even surprised anymore that idiots like this with no real knowledge get views. There's a lot of kids on youtube and good cartoon reviewers are exceedingly rare. You have Pan and... yeah there you go.

Eh, I've been watching Pan for 5 years now so I like him. He's only a step above and I wouldn't call him a true critic but he actually REVIEWS what he watches, citing history, discussing the art style, audio, story and also gives a fuck about editing, something lost on Mr Enter or the like.
