>>99761048>Venom should be a villain again. The only time he worked as a “anti-hero”/vigilante/Hero was Flash Thompson.Disagree, as much as I love the initial Venom stories, if there is any inkling of truth in what haters say is that his reasons for hating Spider-Man were actually pretty weak, of course it didn't fucking matter because he was entertaining as hell basically being the one villain who was truly a bully to Peter and had the upper hand at tormenting him, that is best left in the past where it initially ended. I mean Venom was not even "evil" initially, he has no real villainous plan like conquering the world or being a career criminal, his whole shtick was trying to stop the "evil" Spider-Man...you can only run with that for so long before you would have to make Eddie canonically retarded for it to make sense, yes he is crazy and twisted, but part of that was that his motives were in the "right" place, at least in his own delusions, to me the only logical place to go with that at some point is that he stops trying to kill Spider-Man and realizes he's not actually evil or a destroyer of innocents. If you just want a psychotic symbiote villain who's just there to be evil and scary, that's what Carnage was invented for, you should just want him to get the spotlight in Spider-Man books again. As far as Flash Thompson goes, I was never a fan of him myself, you can love or hate Eddie's face turn, but at the very least he was an interesting and original character, I could not care about him at all and overall he was just like Punisher-Lite with part of Venom's gimmick, essentially Venom-Lite as well. Never found it interesting and always found it contrived to just slap traits of other characters together and call it a new one.
