Steve managed to progressively disarm Bucky and was beating him in hand-to-hand the first time, and decisively beat him the second time to achieve his objective. He refused to fight Bucky after he took down the Helicarrier, not even bothering to resist the beatdown.

Bucky was always the weakest super soldier.

This is my really first major dip into the MCU and man is it badly fucking written.

I never really thought about how Steve getting the serum before seeing combat is one of the biggest factors in who he became. PTSD in super heroes is a concepts that isn't explored enough

they intentionally gave him entitled/abusive male vibes. they did the same thing with hayward in wandavision. they both lash out at others when confronted with their own mistakes or shortcomings and are shown to be inflexible, cold or gauche in interactions with people outside of their immediate circle of influence. they're not simply bad guys, they're Bad Men, whereas the villainous females are never implied to be Bad Women.
