He ripped Rampage’s arms off, ripped Ravage’s tail & spine out of his body, & used it as a weapon, he ACTUALLY shot a generic Decepticon in the back of the head twice, upper-cutted his hand cannon into Soundwave’s chest & then shot his head off from underneath. Ok, I admit pretty hardcore (still fucking awesome tho). But then, in his own movie, he slammed a Decepticon into the ground knocking his head off & then kicked it into another Decepticon. He stabbed a missile into Blitzwing's chest & as he begged him not to, Bumblebee shot it & blew him up. Then he ripped Dropkick apart with a chain, & then crushed Shatter with a ship. Now the point I’m trying to make with this, is that not only are both movies brutal, but in the Bayformers, the brutality that one complains that Optimus has is not limited to him. Everyone in the Bayformers universe fights like that. Meaning it’s simply a fighting style. They fight savagely & use any way they can to kill and ensure death. These are normal war tactics by the way & they were fighting a long-ass war, this "brutality" would be very normalised in a real war scenario (You know? "actions" that are done "live").
Also, these are robots. Robots are a really easy get-out-of-jail-free card for over the top gore for kids. Samurai Jack is probably the best example of this. They do some messed up stuff, but it’s okay, because they’re Robots.
