we see how in the present he hadn’t resolved any of his past issues, he still had mommy issues,trouble from differencing abuse from
love, he still had a rocky relationship with his father, etc. I fee like Clay was like a boiling oil waiting to go off.
All of this reminds me when Bojack tried to blame Sharona and Angela for pushing him into making certain decisions, but it doesn’t change the fact that at the end of the day no matter how much outside input someone else had, it was them who decided to go through what they chose and we see how the current Clay never attempted to get better unlike Bojack.
