>>113206127>What do you even like about Transformers? I bet you don't even buy toysI liked G1 Transformers because I was a kid when they were on, and also because there was so much potential for the interesting and diverse characters and abilities. And I have a ton of toys, with boxes, but with all the stickers on them and all the guns mixed together in a plastic box, in a trunk in the closet. Not on the shelf.
The shows, which I know mostly by heart, are, however, objectively terrible. Bad animation, inconsistent coloring and plot points, generally bad scripts and dialog...some top quality voice acting though.
The original movie is perhaps the movie I've seen most in my lifetime. But it is not a good movie. A good movie is something you could show to a regular person who doesn't know anything about the mythology and even if they didn't understand it, they could see why someone else might like it, and would basically enjoy the film.
You can't show the movie to a regular person. It doesn't transcend hyper-nerd obsession. It's one of my favorite movies, but I can't make the argument that it's good.
All that said, Bumblebee just sucks whether you like the mythology or not. It's boring and derivative and packed with wall-to-wall bad acting and stupid plot/dialog. But I'd watch it again before a Bayformers.
