Yeah, it was a book series written by Luc Besson, who then made the films. Apparently he wanted to get into kids entertainment at the time.

Pretty much. Hard to complain with such a great design tho. To be fair, there were far worse CGI films in 2006. That was a mostly terrible year for animation.

Apparently, Disney Channel Russia and Disney Channel Germany have the rights to broadcast the tv-series in their respective countries.
Who knows, maybe this thing will end up at Disney+ at some point.

That being said:

The uncut version should be out there in english.

I was obsessed with this movie when i was a kid, Selenia was the hottest thing my little brain could conceive, used to fantasize all the time i'd become a Minimoy and kiss her brains out
Thankfully it never manifested into a fetish thing, but i did publish a comic about mini-people some years ago and that was one of the biggest reasons for it
