>>109420416Given the setup of America's backstory, you could actually work that in as a character trait. She's not Hispanic, she's an alien from a culture that resembles various Hispanic cultures. She spends most of her life teleporting around, finding people and cultures that kinda fit with what she's used to and that sorta fills the the void of her missing home for a while until the differences get too noticeable, and then she moves on somewhere else and repeats the process. She's a perpetual outsider trying to jigsaw together something familiar out a 2 dozen disparate cultures and it just never fits. You could even tie it back to how she treats her relationships, she bails the moment she gets any major pushback or disagreement because she's perpetually looking for that perfect fit. And since by the end of the comic she's actually found a way to get back to part of her home, you can invoke personal tragedy with her idea of home mostly being a distortion, if not fabrication, because she left when she was 8.
