You know what's actually way more convenient? That a world class elite hitman would pick a spot with a surveillance camera to make one of his hits (and this is back in the 90s, when you didn't have surveillance cameras in every corner), and not only that but actually walk into frame and give the camera a nice closeup of his face before destroying it for whatever reason, since it's not like the camera holds the tape anyway. And then after that, nobody knew about the existence of the tape, except for S.H.I.E.L.D. even though the victim was very high profile and the fact that was a camera there would've been immediatly noticed by anyone interested, like supersmart billionaire Tony Stark, yet somehow, some guy in a random easter country manages to find out about it and get it. Yet 3 of the biggest movies at the box office are based on that contrived bullshit because people bought into it. What happens in Shazam is far less "convenient" than that and that's why people also don't have an issue with it, except contrarian cunts like yourself who's probably always bitching about plotholes.
