>>101251302I believe he's referring to the media that comes out of California. Hollywood movies and celebrities have a tremendous influence on public opinion, now more than ever since the rise of social media. This has created an "Us. Vs. Them" dichotomy, and there's been no better recent example of this dichotomy in effect than Star Wars.
EXAMPLE ONE:
>Under Kathleen Kennedy's leadership, J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan create an incredibly strong female force user who is just "born with it" and doesn't have to train to get good>Liberal Media: Kudos to Disney for bringing some much needed diversity to the traditionally all-white male Star Wars universe.>Average Star Wars Fan: What, are you shitting me? She's a fucking Mary Sue! How is she that capable if she's never had a single lesson from a Jedi Master?!>Liberal Media: Crawl back to 4chan, you vile, sexist pig! EXAMPLE TWO:
>Rian Johnson, under Kathleen Kennedy's leadership, creates a strong, capable, no-nonsense, pink-haired, lesbian (according to the book) Vice-Admiral who teaches Poe Cameron the value of unquestioningly following orders, even when you're the best pilot of the galaxy and deserve to know what the hell is going on>Liberal Media: Bravo! Bravisimo! Kathleen Kennedy has done it again! Move over, men, and make room for LGBT women! >Average Star Wars fan: What the actual fuck?! This is the most blatantly obvious virtue signaling ever seen in Star Wars--who the hell thought this was a well-written character that people would connect to?Liberal Media: SEXIST! HOMOPHONE! TRANSPHOBIC BIGOT!
Etc., etc. Of course, I would remiss if I didn't point out that New York has a hand in this increasingly widened forced dichotomy. These two coasts, NY and CA, particularly the metropolitan areas, are hotbeds of the various departments of left-wing thought, from feminism to social justice and identity politics.
