I remember when SU was on hiatus, we literally got our general attempts deleted not only when new episodes had been announced but even on the DAY when the new episode was airing. Like one hour till the new ep after a hiatus of months and they deleted every general. Only once the episode was finally actually on air did they let the generals stay up. For comparison, Gravity Falls was allowed generals after new episode airdates had been confirmed, iirc.
Once the hiatus starts, there's usually a grace period of one week after the last episode and after that generals are deleted on sight.
Frankly I'm surprised the mods are tolerantly turning a blind eye to this "totally not a general" permathread thing star vs has got going on. They're being pretty lenient imo and we should be pleased instead of whining, because it could definitely be way worse should svtfoe spark the ire of the mods.
