I'll admit that I only really started following anime closely since 2017, so it's pure luck that this series I had binged recently came from 2012. Only other thing I had watched was SAO as it came out, but I'm many times more a sucker for romantic fluff so that made it easy.

My favorite from the past year was Made in Abyss.

I know it came out a lil earlier but I finally watched it and loved it. I'm a one anime series per 6-18 months type of normie lmao
