Let's be honest, the passes are not really about utility, they're just a way to support 4chan. I think 12 bucks would be ideal, but I would vastly prefer my support to be to the tune of 15 rather than 20. That's my personal evaluation what 4chan is worth to me. If you think 4chan is worth more to you or if you value money less - more power to you.
There's so much free entertainment out there - it takes a lot for me to pay. 4chan is up there, mostly for sentimentality, but not quite 20-bucks-worth up there. For reference: I don't go to the cinema and find the experience grossly over-priced. Just last year I've bought music for the first time in 15 years. I'm also one of those annoying people who expect a game to provide at least an hour of gameplay per unit of currency spent (knocking out a large number of probably amazing narrative experiences and high-quality games that happen to be short).
If making it cheaper is not on the table I'd settle for stuff like the banner contest (I won 3 passes and came in second 8 times).
