I got into some hobbies that helped me meet people. I'm still awkward but at least I have some friends now.

warhammer 40k, magic the gathering, warmachine, X-Wing, Armada, star wars imperial assault, board games, dungeons and dragons, stuff like those. They're all very fun and good ways to meet people. Plus they foster creativity.

I enjoy hiking. Sometimes I bring a hammock with me, find a nice spot, and just hang around in the afternoon. It's really fun.
