I'm introverted, shy, and have low self esteem, which keeps me alone as a guy, but as a girl I would be much more likely to be approached. Once I got attached to someone I would have trouble saying no and be easy to manipulate. Abusers are really good at spotting that kind of thing, so pure dumb luck (which I typically don't have a lot of) bringing a good partner is the only thing that would protect me.
