Why does dealing with computers have to be so hard? I tried installing Windows 10 through Boot Camp on my Macbook earlier and it went so badly I had to reformat the hard drive.

I used Boot Camp to install Windows 7 on my kids' iMacs. Went well. Reformatting your HDD is not an entirely bad thing once in a while.

Why do you want a Windows PC?

Find an older 17" MBP w a matte screen. Install an SSD. Won't run "modern" OSX iterations but it's a solid work laptop IMHO.

I don't like Windows, but the truth is, even for any operating system, it's best to install each OS on its own hard drive, and I don't know if your laptop can have multiple hard drives. Right now I have two HDDs and two SSDs in my desktop, and each has a different install. Two OpenBSD installs, one's my desktop, one's for -current development, one FreeBSD install to play around with that, even though OpenBSD is really better, and one Windows 10 install.
In a desktop, you can do as much as you want.

The late 2010 and mid 2011 ones can run Sierra. And yes, SSDs are fucking magic at reviving sandy bridge based laptops. I have a T420 hackintosh with a mSATA SSD. Apps dont take long to load unlike being on a 7200RPM drive. and it boots in a few seconds despite that being a slower SATA II bus.

It also reminds me of the old black macbooks which i though were sexy as fuck.
