He knows nearly everyone hates him, he knows he's worthless at almost everything, he knows he'll never amount to anything. What would one normally do in that situation? Suicide? No, because he knows he'd likely fuck that up too, so he just presses on with his life, knowing he'll always be a loser and never achieve anything of significance, but it's okay; he's come to accept that and that's just how his life is.
