I always knew I was different, but I didn't know why. My parents brushed it off as just being a picky eater. Finally, at 15, I realized that I was actually a vegetarian.
It explained my terrible taste in meats, why I was disgusted by 95% of new food I tried (or refused to try after looking at it), and why even food I did normally like was gross when prepared slightly differently.
I stopped eating meat, and suddenly all new food was amazing. It was very liberating. And I never had to order a steak well done again.
