Just because it isn't "needed" doesn't mean it isn't useful. "(You)" is useful, but I agree with you that the bad that has come with it outweighs the good.

"(You)" is no different. It's useful as a slightly quicker tool to find replies, but too many people use it just for "Here's your (You)" and "Great post, have a (You)"
