>>33399The flaw in your logic is that you're assuming nothing can be worse than death (as far as I can tell). Which is clearly not the case for OP. In fact, there is such a thing that is significantly *worse* than death: Being alive and unwell.
The “pack up and do whatever you want” method only works on the assumption that “nothing could be worse than this”, which OP has shown no indication of. In fact, very many things could be worse than my current situation: Like for example being homeless, hungry and cold on the streets, shivering and begging for money.
That doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you fear death in general. In fact, the only time you would apply the “pack up and do whatever you want” method is actually when you *do* fear death, because otherwise you would simply kill yourself in a situation where you believe your life could only improve. I would probably kill myself if I ever ended up believing my life was a net loss.
So suggesting to somebody who has accepted the idea of death that they should hasten it by trying to make their life as miserable as possible seems like a roundabout way of doing it. If that's your intent, then you might as well just advise OP to commit suicide immediately.
Either way, my answer remains the same: Suicide is a method for resetting your life quality to 0. Use it if your life quality is below 0. Avoid it if your life quality is above 0. Simple.
